Overall, my experience with Ernest Hemingway's books turned out to be less than positive. I found Hemingway's novels to be interesting, enticing, and full of interesting plot, yet the books and the story lines did not really appeal to me that much. Many of his stories are quite repetitive, and can become, at times, even dull and boring. Hemingway is a positive author in the sense that his stories offer many different avenues to explore for themes, and his novels and ideas can be interpreted in various ways. Though Hemingway offers many options for writing the actual paper, this also can serve as obstacles, because it can be hard to connect the ideas and bring them all together into central idea.

American Author Thesis : Ernest Hemingway
Often put off as a writer of supremely masculine literature, Earnest Hemingway has earned a top position in the literary canon of the modernist era. As a master of provocative understatement, Hemingway developed his reputation for addressing issues of gender and sexuality with prevailing themes of masculinity. The analytic examiner has no trouble locating readings that describe The Sun Also Rises, or any other Hemingway work, in this much acknowledged, male-dominated variety. What is an uncommon investigation is the homosexual themes borne into the novel. His impotence and metaphoric homosexuality are qualities that he keeps in the dark. These are qualities that he is ashamed of.

The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway
Two of the characters from the lost generation, Jake Barnes and Lady Brett Ashley, have a very complicated relationship. Their relationship has become a sort of fixture in their life. For this reason, not much in their life will ever change. In her eyes, even though she loves him, her desire for sex is so important that she would sleep with other men if they were married and that was never going to change. He promises to give them something that he is physically incapable of giving, and he always leaves them.
An early and enduring modernist novel, it received mixed reviews upon publication. However, Hemingway biographer Jeffrey Meyers writes that it is now "recognized as Hemingway's greatest work", and Hemingway scholar Linda Wagner-Martin calls it his most important novel. A year later, Jonathan Cape published the novel in London under the title Fiesta. It remains in print.
